White- 530-752-6451 California Wind Energy CollaborativeTechnician Training Wind Energy for Technicians provides a comprehensive, technical foundation for those currently working or considering future work in the wind industry. Instead of replacing or duplicating on-the-job training, this course augments it by focusing on core fundamentals that traditionally aren't covered, including aerodynamics, structural loads, and the engineering of power electronics and control systems. Topics such as grid integration of wind energy, environmental issues, and design of modern wind turbines will also be discussed. We believe that understanding these fundamental topics makes better technicians who are more aware in their working environment and more invested in their industry. Small Wind TrainingInstallation of a small wind turbine is one of the most economical ways for a home or business to reduce their electric bill and begin developing energy independence. The course presents the basic science and economics of small wind energy systems and provides practical information on selecting, installing, and owning such a system. Participants will leave the course knowing how to assess the wind energy potential at their site, how to select an appropriate system for their needs, and how to navigate the permitting and installation processes required to get their small turbine up and running. -source: California Wind Energy CollaborativeAre we Missing Your Wind Program?Do you run a wind program that is not listed?
