Eco-Friendly Tire Manufacturer

There are ways to make tires in a more eco-friendly manner. By utilizing the best of the green concepts, we save the environment and still mange to create something that we are not likely to find a substitute for in a long while. We need tires for our cars, our trucks, our vans and even our bikes.

What type of knowledge is needed for this business venture?

It is necessary to know what constitutes an eco-friendly tire and what part of the manufacturing process could be improved upon. It is also important to know how to recycle materials at a tire plant, how to run the machines safely and greenly and how to store and ship the finished product.

Who are the key audience for an eco-friendly tire?

The main audience would be green auto manufacturers, mostly those who are building hybrids and electric cars. Once you can eliminate one ecologically damaging item from a car's design, you can start working on a whole new issue. Adding eco-friendly tires to a hybrid car makes it that much more friendly to the planet as a whole.

Who are the competitors?

Other tire plants that are going eco-friendly will be the biggest competition. Your biggest challenge will be from those companies that are already in business and simply have to make some adjustments to their methods to be considered eco-friendly. If you are building from the ground up, you will have a major uphill battle to face, especially since you will be up against those who are already established.

What are the risks?

Aside from battling the already working companies, you will face the possibility of some tire stores not wanting to carry the brand, especially if they are considered new or untested.

Who benefits from the idea?

The planet benefits from an idea that is more eco-friendly than its traditional counterpart. The workers who get to have a job building a greener product also benefit. Finally, the auto makers who build hybrid and electric cars benefit from having one more reason that their car is better for the environment.

How do you reduce the costs at start up?

If you are looking to get into the business without having to build a factory from the ground up, you take over a tire plant and then refurbish, rework and redesign it to be eco-friendly. If there are no tire plants in the area, then you start working with old factories or other large buildings until you find the one that will best suit your needs at the lowest price for change over.

If you do take over a tire plant, it is in your best interest to keep and retrain as many of the current workers that you can.
