Green Career Movement Ready For Take Off

The green career movement is poised to take over the economy. In the 20's it was the car, in the 90's the internet. Today, Green Careers is poised to be larger and have more of an impact on the economy than both.

Identifying the different areas of growth within this new green push will help the current unemployed gain leverage when the economy gets better.

One does not need to look further than the current car industry to see the impact that the green movement is having. GM and Chrysler are bankrupt in part to some slow movement towards gas efficient cars. On the flip side Ford, Toyota and Honda have been leading the way in electric hybrid cars. Ford is actually retooling some factories to produce a larger amount of these hybrids.

In a recent article in Canada.com, the hottest green careers at the moment are environmental engineers, environmental technicians, conservation biologists, and Geographic information specialist (GIS).

Here in the United State the Obama Administration has made an emphasis on green jobs. This is highlighted by his appointment of Van Jones. Mr. Jones has been at the forefront of green collar jobs. He has in a short time shown the monetary impact that "going green" can have.

As economist debate whether the recession is over, one should ask themselves one question. Am I prepared for a green career revolution?
