Green Collar Jobs: Creating Environmentally-friendly Products and Services

Environmental protection and preservation has been one of the main programs of various organizations in different countries around the world. This is due to the awareness that the environment is experiencing global damage due to the activities and products made by humans. Major problems faced by various countries are massive water and air pollution, depletion of natural resources, global warming and other serious issues involving the environment. Through the government and environment-oriented organizations' promotion and effort, there are now green collar jobs in various sectors of the economy.

Green collar jobs are the type of occupations which are adapting to environment protection rules and standards that are now being implemented. It is the kind of job dedicated in helping environmental protection and preservation by providing products and services that are not harmful to the environment. Green collar job sector have been increasing rapidly due to the effort and promotion of various people together with the government. Some businesses and companies are now also turning green, developing and manufacturing products that are environment-friendly as well as providing employment for those people who are also interested in gaining income while helping the environment at the same time. Various incentives and benefits have been implemented by governments and various organizations to further encourage the whole business sector to go green.

According to some research, there are now numerous sectors in the economy that has been increasing employment on green collar jobs such as commercial, manufacturing, industrial, agricultural, constructions and most especially the energy sector. Examples of these green collar jobs are:

* Various blue collar jobs that are dedicated to clean and maintain safe and healthy environment such as environmental researchers, engineers and inventors focused on designing devices and machine for proper water treatment and proper garbage disposal and management, and environmental scientists.

* Energy saving jobs wherein the products and services are sourced from recycled energy to conserve and reduce energy consumption. These types of jobs include solar panel installation, bio-fuel production, geothermal energy production and many other jobs in the energy sector that are designed to harvest and produce energy from natural source. Compared to fossil-fuel burning power plants that produce and emit harmful gases, green collar jobs focus on avoiding and reducing emission of harmful energy products.

* Manufacturing and construction industry that includes using of recycled, environment-friendly materials as well as using of various materials that are not easily depleted to help preserve the natural resources like wood and lumber from trees.

Aside from these green collar jobs, there are also other numerous green collar jobs that have been developed to cater to the various environmental concerns and preservation causes. With these type of jobs, people not only earn sufficient income for themselves and for their family but they also get to contribute to the welfare and safety of the environment which will, in return, provide benefits for them such as safer and cleaner environment and surroundings for everyone.
