Fuels and Research

Almost everything in the transport industry is connected to fuels and fuel technologies, so it is obvious that many new green jobs come from this part of the industry. For example, large distribution networks need to be built and developed for new fuels. All-electric cars are surely good for the environment, but they are a bit impractical if there are no recharging stations around. And the same applies to various types of fuel cells and biofuels. The technologies need to be implemented on a global scale and that requires a skilled workforce.

Furthermore, new technologies still need a lot of improvement and much more needs to be done in order to make sustainable transport globally viable, so skilled researches are always wanted in this industry. The efficiency of biofuels needs to be improved, fuel cells need to become cheaper, etc. - there is so much to do. And the most renowned firms offer very interesting monetary rewards for the best employees.

Advertising

The sustainable transport industry is still relatively new and companies will need to spend significant amounts of money for advertising and various promotions. For that reason, it should be pretty to easy to get a job in the marketing department, as emerging firms will certainly offer many interesting job placements. However, it has to be said that there will be a lot of competition. After all, experienced marketing experts are likely to see this developing market as a great opportunity and companies in the regular transport industry are spending unbelievable amounts of money on advertising, so it is going to be a very tough environment.

According to various studies, green industries are starting to generate more jobs than industries that are connected to fossil fuels, so it is clear that there are going to be some exciting green job opportunities in the future. And a huge part of that sector will surely be taken by the sustainable transport industry, so you should be definitely prepared for that.
