How Does Fair Trade Affect Green Job Opportunities?Almost everyone has already heard something about Fairtrade International, the association that promotes fair trade across the entire planet. In this article, we are going to take a closer look at the concept of fair trade and how does it actually affect green job opportunities. Fair TradeThe concept of fair trade was not really always here, but it is getting stronger and stronger nowadays, so it is important to realize what is it all about. Basically, fair trade stands for a trading relationship that respects the principles of equality and sustainable development. There is no place for ignoring the rights of small producers and employers. Ideally, it should prevent exploitation of economically weak countries that cannot protect their producers on their own. Most of this is related to agriculture, as there is little or no industry in those countries. And this is the reason why fair trade is important for green job opportunities. Small farmers and producers are usually helping the global environment in many ways. They usually promote organic farming and use no chemical substances as fertilizers or additives. Furthermore, they can often shape the landscape in a way that is beneficial to the environment and local communities. Big export companies were sometimes forcing them into unnecessary deforestation (in order to increase profits), but companies that promote the concept of fair trade stopped in many places in order to protect the environment and farmers from exploitation. Fairtrade InternationalFairtrade International and other movements that promote fair trade have a huge effect on green job opportunities in many countries. Most importantly, it helps farmers and producers from economically weak countries that do not know how to make their way through the extremely competitive markets we have nowadays. Many of those producers do not even know how to negotiate properly. Fairtrade International can help them with those issues and promote green job opportunities in those countries. Of course, its scope of action is not limited to economically weak countries and even others can profit from it. In conclusion, the concept of fair trade is indeed a huge thing for green job opportunities across the entire planet and it is certainly good that associations like Fairtrade International exist, although some controversies have indeed surface over the last few years. Nevertheless, with global trade still on the rise, you will surely hear about fair trade even more often.
