The Wind Energy and Turbine Technology Program is the first in the state of Iowa. Since the number of wind turbines in the state of Iowa is growing quickly, Iowa Lakes Community College is working to help meet the growing demand for skilled technicians who can install, maintain, and service modern wind turbines.

Sustainable Energy Resources Management

If you are interested in being part of the development of a national energy policy that provides reliable sources of sustainable energy which are generated in an environmentally safe fashion, are concerned about the health of our environment and our economy, enjoy working in a challenging and rewarding work environment, and are interested in employment in a rapidly expanding career field; then the Sustainable Energy Resources Management Program is designed for you.

The Sustainable Energy Resources Management Program features a program coordinator with over 25 years work experience in the field of sustainable resources management; a modern, well equipped classroom and laboratory facility; access to a wide array of both wind and biomass energy facilities which provide excellent opportunities for field trips; and a strong emphasis on hands-on learning activities.

Wind Power Management

The Wind Power Management Focus Area is intended to educate professionals for design, operations, and management of wind farms deployed in massive numbers all over the country. The graduates will be able to fully understand the system and management of wind power facilities and their interactions with other alternative and conventional power generation systems.
