It's Time to Consider a Green Career!
With smaller and larger companies looking to help our environment and assist in preserving resources, they are going to need help. That's where you come in. Considering a green career means that you want to help this planet and everything on it. Imagine waking up everyday feeling good about yourself and what you do for a living. Most people can only dream about having a job like that, let alone a career.
There are a variety of Green job fields to get into. I will list some here if you have no idea where to start. Utility sales, forestry sector leader, design engineer, turbine reliability engineer, and wind product development. I know that the jobs have long titles but someone has to do them and they are waiting for you. A green job or green collar job can be one of the most rewarding experiences of your life. If you have worked in another field before then you have probably asked yourself," why am I doing this? Why am I making this company money everyday? And the company may be doing damage to the environment as well, but you're still asking yourself the same questions everyday and stuck in the same situation.
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 has given the government and a number of businesses the money to hire a whole new batch of green workers in every sector. So the money is there, we just need the bodies. Even you don't have experience in the Green industry you can still find a good paying job that will satisfy you in more ways than you think. Also, if you are interested in traveling and seeing the world, green jobs are available worldwide. Whether here in the states, or somewhere halfway around the world, you can make a difference. This is your chance to do something for something and someone else instead of always thinking of yourself like most of us do. There a number of programs worldwide that are actively recruiting potential employees for this new and exciting career field.
One more point that has to be made about a career in the green field is job security. Think of it in these terms, our environment is not getting better it's getting worse, so job security is almost concrete. A career in the green field is not going to get better anytime soon unless we as a planet change. That's where you come in. Also, the green industry is relatively new so a person who gets in right now can get in on the ground floor and work their way up the ladder to success and lifelong fulfillment. Now that is something to look forward to.
