It's no secret that the job market is exceedingly tight, or that unemployment is at its highest point in decades. So, you've lost your job - what do you do?
There are a number of strategies that could prove beneficial. Consulting a business coach might be a wise move. You could also consider meeting with a marketing and/or sales expert. They can help you market yourself! Obviously, your resume will need updating and polishing.
In today's economy, why not think outside the box? If your industry is not hiring, consider a new direction, possibly a career in a field that you've always been interested in. Maybe you want to go back to school to learn a new skill set. If that is not feasible, perhaps you could consider a franchise or network marketing.
Franchise consultants can help you determine which franchise would be a good fit for you. There are also good resources available for evaluating network marketing companies. Always do your homework and look before you leap!
Talk with your friends and networking acquaintances. They may have leads and ideas that you had not considered. Being out of work can be devastating, but many times this can turn into a blessing in disguise. Reach out and ask for help, try to stay positive, and keep an open mind. The opportunity of a lifetime could be right around the corner.
