The world of non profit can be an exciting rewarding and truly great green career. If you are coming off of a job in the for profit world, you may want to take a look at the nonprofit world. The career outlook for a non profit worker is very good. They make on average $30-$50 thousand a year. Most of these companies take being green and renewable very seriously many times much more than for profits. Secondly, taking a job in this field may help retrain you and give you some great new skills.Non profit organizations are great ways to meet new people who you may not have met if you did not work there. It also gives you a great way to give back to your community. There are certain things that you need to keep in mind while looking into the nonprofit world. What kind of organization would you like to apply for? This question can be more complicated than it seems. Make sure that you are going to try and get a job that you will be able to appreciate what that organization does. It will be very helpful to find a non profit organization that is similar to the field that you already know. If you are coming from a car company for example, finding on that deals with automotive charities might fit perfectly for you. It may also give you a leg up on your competition for that job. Like any job, it helps to know people within the company. Try to find a way to make a connection with the people who will be doing the hiring. Working for a non profit will be just as stressful as for profit. There will be stresses and you may not always like your boss. Keep in mind that these organizations do not pay as well as for profit.
