Once the company completes construction of the four new 10 MW installations, First Solar will pass them over to NextEra's Canadian subsidiary, NextEra Energy Canada, who will own and operate the facilities. Since 2009, Ontario's FIT has helped to create a whole alternative energy industry by paying above-market rates for electricity producers feed into the grid from renewable sources such as solar, wind, and biomass.
