This program was approved by the Maryland Higher Education Commission in November 2000 and is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA). It is designed to prepare students to work as professional Massage Therapists in a variety of health settings and equip them with the additional skills required to be a holistically trained member of allied health and integrative medicine teams.
The Associate Degree Program in Massage Therapy is designed to provide students with the tools they need to be successful. Our graduates are eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and then the state Jurisprudence exam. Successful completion of these exams makes one eligible to become a Licensed Massage Therapist in Maryland. Licensed Massage Therapists may work in health care settings such as hospitals, hospice, long-term care facilities, doctors offices, and chiropractor's offices as well as other related businesses.
Our students participate in extensive practice lab as well as a student clinic and clinical rotation at Franklin Square Hospital.
