The Therapeutic Massage Program has been in existence since 2000. Graduates receive an Associate in Applied Science Degree (A.A.S.) after completing 1330 hours. The program is accredited by the Commission on Massage Therapy Accreditation (COMTA).
Therapeutic massage involves the use of manual soft tissue mobilization to promote health and wellness. Recent scientific studies done at the Touch Research Institute in Miami, have documented the many positive physical, mental, and emotional effects of massage.
The Therapeutic Massage Program offers students a strong scientific background for the understanding and application of various soft tissue techniques. Various types of holistic massage will be studied, including both Eastern and Western approaches.
All graduates are eligible to sit for the National Certification Examination for Massage Therapist, which is administered by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB).
