There are two majors in general Agricultural Science at McGill, as well as the more specialized majors in Plant Science, Animal Science, and Agricultural Economics. All of them lead to accreditation as a professional agrologist from the Ordre des agronomes du Québec and the provincial Institutes of Agrology in other parts of Canada.
The regular major in Agricultural Sciences is a minimum of 90 credits if you have completed cegep in Quebec, or 120 credits if you are from outside the province and need to complete the Freshman year. Within the regular major, you may do one internship if you wish. The Internship Major is exactly the same as the regular major, except that it is 96 credits (or 126 credits if you are from outside Quebec), and you are required to do two internships, one on a farm or related enterprise, and one in professional agrology.
This option is for students who have a particular interest in ecological agriculture, including organic agriculture.
