Montana Wind Applications Center was created in 2008, thanks to the U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory who provided the designation and startup funding. The WAC is in-place to provide a background in Wind Energy to students at Montana State University, to support wind-related outreach efforts throughout Montana, and to support Montana's Wind for Schools program.
