The Environmental Science degree has been developed for students who have a strong interest in science and a concern for the environment. The environmental science program at Mount Allison University is an interdisciplinary, science-intensive program, requiring comprehensive study of the sciences and mathematics. Students will take basic science courses from the biology, chemistry, geography, mathematics, and physics departments to provide a strong but diverse scientific foundation required to understand environmental issues from a multi-disciplinary perspective. In consultation with the environmental science coordinator students will complement their program with an in-depth concentration of courses to provide them with a scientific specialty. The environmental science program is for students interested in science and in developing a diverse set of skills that that will be useful for careers focused on finding solutions to environmental problems, including environmental research, monitoring and management.
