The mission of the University is to improve the quality of American health care by providing a graduate education level for the training of practitioners in traditional Chinese medicine. The University offers courses in traditional Chinese medicine integrated with Western medical sciences and is dedicated to enhancing the standard of professionalism in the teaching and practice of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

The University of East-West Medicine offers a Master of Science degree program in Traditional Chinese Medicine. The MSTCM program may be completed in as little as 36 months (3 calendear years). Acupuncture education

The program comprises 2130 hours of didactic instruction and 960 hours of clinical training, for a total of 3090 hours (174 units). Most of the courses are devoted to the study and practice of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine, integrated with courses in Western medical sciences and practice management.

The University of East-West Medicine offers a Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine program. DAOM program is a 2-year long program. To graduate a total of 60 units of course work is required, (1230 hours including clinical duty). Students must complete all the required general courses and specialty courses.

The general courses are 30 units (540 hours), including 8 high-level theory classes and three hands-on training courses. Those courses are focused on developing students’ comprehensive ability in biomedicine, traditional Chinese medicine research, teaching skills, and the management of medical establishments. The professional courses are 30 units (690 hours), including 8 specialty courses and three hands-on training courses. Currently we open two fields of specialty studies, gynecology and pain management. In the future, we plan to implement oncology and dermatology.
