Environment and Resource Studies offers a student-centred learning environment: small class sizes, one-on-one learning with professors via projects and theses -- topics that you choose on the basis of your interests and the demands of society.
With the flexibility our program offers, you can focus on topics of personal interest, such as natural resource management, ecology, environmental journalism, environmental health, development and environment, waste and water management, environmental philosophy, environmental assessment, and more.
Environment and Resource Studies offers a 2-year Master of Environmental Studies (MES) program and a new PhD program in Social and Ecological Sustainability.
Like our undergraduate program, the graduate programs in ERS is unique in its mix of transdisciplinary understanding and problem-solving combined with the ability to focus your thesis research on a narrower problem or issue.
We emphasize that students should choose their graduate research topic based on their our interests and background. Our graduate students are valued in the job market and recognized for their academic excellence with major scholarships.
