Western has launched a new and dynamic interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Environment and Sustainability that uses project-based learning to enhance the graduate student's skill set in preparation for a career in the environmental field.

Students can pursue a collaborative thesis-based Master's or PhD program or a course-based Master's degree program in Environment and Sustainability (MES).

The Collaborative Program in Environment and Sustainability is an enrichment program designed for current graduate students (MSc/MA/MESc or PhD) who wish to become specialists in specific aspects of environment and sustainability, and who also wish to gain an appreciation of the interdisciplinary nature of environmental problems and solutions.

The MES degree is a dynamic course-based interdisciplinary program designed for students interested in equipping themselves with the skills and experience needed to compete for an entry level position as an environmental professional with a potential for leadership in industry, a non-governmental organization, or a government department. The program is open to students from a variety of academic backgrounds.
